| Kayaks were a groovey ancient form of transportation on Kachemak Bay. They were made from sea mammal hides wrapped around a wood frame and sealed with whale-fat waterproofing. Although the construction and materials have changed over time, the function and design remain very much the same. | |||||||

Kayak Equipment Bay Excursions offers a small fleet of rental kayaks consisting of single Necky Kyooks and double Necky Amaruks. Our emphasis is on safety so we do require previous experience prior to renting. All renters will sign a waiver taking full responsibility for themselves and the gear they rent. If you have no experience in kayaking, we will be happy to recommend other guided kayak tours where you can learn the skills necessary for safe kayaking in Kachemak Bay.
Our rental package includes the following equipment, paddles, paddle float, spray skirts, life jackets, bilge pump and sponge. |
