This is a traditional styled Alutiiq/Aleut Bentwood Visor with its painted geometric designs and decorations of ivory, feathers and Russian trade beads. The hunters wore visors to honor the spirits and transform themselves into mighty hunters.

The visors are crafted with Sitka Spruce or Yellow Cedar and has a base stain of natural ocher. The figurine on the front and the side ornament is made of walrus ivory and the tassles are decorated with Russian Trade beads and bone.

Since all the visors are handmade at the time of the order, no two will ever be exactly alike.
