Thompson's Halibut Charters during the last 17 years have won first place in the Homer Jackpot Derby six times. Also, we have placed in the monthly winners numerous times with a big barn door, our largest fish weighing 346.9 lbs.

Charter reservations can be made in Homer or Soldotna; however, our boats are docked at the Homer Small Boat Harbor in beautiful Kachemak Bay on the Homer Spit. We have three 37 foot Tollycraft yachts that hold a maximum of six customers and a licensed captain and experienced deckhand. By limiting our capacity to six fishermen, we reduce any chance of combat fishing. Our boats include (from top to bottom): F/V BILLY JO I F/V BILLY JO II F/V BILLY JO III

Thompson's Log Gift & Jewelry in Soldotna has been an established business for 28 years. We have been operating our halibut charter business for 17 years. We have two locations to serve you. Our main shop and year-round charter office is in Soldotna, home of world-class king salmon fishing on the famous Kenai River. Our Homer shop and charter office is located at the Fishing Village on the Homer Spit in Kachemak Bay, where world-class halibut are caught.

We can also make arrangements, at no additional charge to you for lodging (anywhere from Anchorage to Homer), car rental, salmon charters, fly-in trips for rainbow trout and silver salmon or simply a flight for sightseeing tours.
