The Spit, a projection of land about five miles long that juts into the ocean, becomes home to "Spit Rats", campers who make this their home for all or part of the summer. |
The Homer boat harbor provides shelter for a large fleet of commercial and private boats, and the occasional float plane. | A beautiful single engine Otter, an Alaskan workhorse, takes off from Beluga Lake. |

The aurora creates spectacular displays, most often when you are asleep...neighbors call each other to tell them of the appearance of the northern lights, even at 2:00 AM...and still remain close friends! |
