the knob

This is "the knob". On a map of the Kenai Peninsula, it is called Epperson Knob - named after the original homesteaders. Notice the well-worn path running down the side. From the top, it offers unsurpassed views in all directions. You may also notice the volleyball net on the left. This summer activity has been ongoing for over ten years.

Looking further to the right, you can see a light spot on the side of the knob. That is a large boulder over 6 feet in diameter. Can you see the groove behind it? That is the track left from its ageless descent, on its way to the sea.

The knob is frequented throughout the winter by skiers, snow machiners, sledders, boarders, and shoers. The surrounding area offers endless winter recreational opportunities.

This is truly among the nicest spots on the Kenai, and anywhere else for that matter. The sunsets in the summer, and sunrises in the winter are unrivalled for their ever-changing beauty.

We would love to share it with you. If you want to be somewhere where you can be as active or inactive as you like, and have convenient access to fishing, kayaking, hiking, and anything else the Kenai has to offer, then perhaps you should -
