Traveling to Seldovia by Car, Boat and Air
(Also Visit http:www.seldovia.com for more information regarding these venues)
Driving your Vehicle: You can drive your vehicle to Homer, but driving on to Seldovia requires using the Alaska Marine Highway System (AMHS) ferry vessel, the M/V Tustumena.

The M/V Tustumena makes scheduled vehicle/passenger round-trips from the Homer Spit AMHS dock to Seldovia. Check schedule for times. Usually it is every Tuesday (including holidays) and has a 4 hour stop over in Seldovia during the summer months. Summer also adds early Sunday morning round-trips. Need to be ready to load one hour before departure time and trip takes at least one and one-half hour.

Call the Seldovia City Ticket Office at 907-234-7868 for more Alaska Marine Highway System ferry information and to make instant computer reservations for any destination on the Alaska ferry system. Reservations are very important to insure passage.

It is convenient to have a car when coming to Seldovia, but not necessary. Currently there are no official taxi services; however, we do suggest calling ahead and talking to the Chamber Secretary 907-234-7533 for help in this area. If you have a car, you will be able to take a short drive out Jackalof Road and view some gorgeous scenery. It is suggested to have a 4-wheel drive vehicle if a trip to Red Mountain is desired.
